Jessica Hall and Anna Brigham
Symmetry Duo are a young dynamic violin duet that believe in the power of live music. They began their journey when they met at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2012, where they formed their duo and a firm friendship! This partnership showed immediate promise, and when in 2013 they successfully auditioned for Live Music Now, their passion for outreach work was born. Anna and Jess are both exciting young musicians, but it is their passion for what they do that drives them to really make a difference. They both play violin primarily, but can also incorporate percussion, guitar, viola, singing and electric violins into their sessions, making each one very diverse and the options for new session material truly without limit! They like to include a large variety of different genres of music in their sessions including Western Classical, Folk, Traditional and Jazz.
Individually they perform regularly in numerous Chamber and Orchestral Ensembles, including; BBS Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, Opera North, Welsh National Opera, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and the Raymond Gubbay Orchestra. Anna also performs regularly with her esteemed string quartet ‘Florian Quartet’, while Jess’ passion for outreach work has carried her to form her own project focused on taking live music to enhance the lives of Kenyan children, many of whom are living well below the poverty line.
